Jamala Johns is a New York-bred and Amsterdam-based Creative Director, Strategist and Floral Designer. She’s most passionate about using her instincts to educate, inspire and empower teams to do their best work.

With 10+ years of advertising and marketing experience, Jamala most recently served as the Director of Digital Content at Kiehl’s. She’s lead projects at powerhouse companies including R/GA, Code and Theory, Mother NY, Campfire NYC, Showtime, Saatchi and Saatchi Wellness, Macy’s and DIRECTV.

Jamala is also a noted content creator and social media influencer. Whether it be editing the ground-breaking beauty guide, le coil, or pinning to a half-million followers on Pinterest, she loves using social to share inspiration. This success has lead to being approached to develop strategy for brands including Target, J.Crew, Dr. Pepper, Loehmann’s and Bureau of Trade.

Profiles on her work have been featured in Refinery29, The NY Post, For Harriet, Clutch Magazine, Vogue Italia Online, Essence Magazine and Corinne Bailey Rae’s official blog. In 2012 Jamala was honored as one of the “Jezebel 25” for her work on le coil, as a part of the site’s 5th anniversary.

Jamala’s future plans include finally doing more Europe travel and focusing on her long-time love of floral design.
